AHA International is developing a novel one shot, mono-component resin matte system derived from its exclusive Matflex resin matte technology. This resin is hyperbranched hydroxyl functional polyester with medium range of OH value, ca 90mgKOH/g, designed for using in PUR and/ aminoplast crosslinkage powder coatings cured by both blocked IPDI and/or powderlinker 1174 or AHA1209 as well as the combination of above both crosslinkers, the lowest gloss of 10% ( 60°) may be achieved.

Unlike conventional matte system based on dual component high/low hydroxyl functional polyesters the novel developing system does not need to use the combination of two hydroxyl functional polyesters, reducing the use level of expensive crosslinkers such as Vestagon B1530 and Powderlink 1174, improving yellowing and storage, another advantage is cost saving.
